Write on your Mac, read anywhere

A calm, familiar notes app for your Mac, with folders, pinned notes and checklists. Each note is a plain .md file in your Google Drive, so you can open it from your phone or any other device too.

Secured two-way sync with Google Drive

Notes save on your Mac first, then sync to your Drive automatically. Changes from your other devices come back in, simultaneous edits are merged, and if a merge isn't possible you get a conflict copy instead of lost text. It works offline and catches up later.

Efficient Markdown, rich editing

Headings, bold and italic, links with a hover preview, checklists, pasted images you can resize, and tables with one-click rows and columns. Underneath it's plain Markdown that any editor can open.

Private by design

No server of ours. Your notes travel only between your Mac and your own Google Drive.
Only its own files. BINotes uses Google's limited drive.file access, so it can see only the files it created, never the rest of your Drive.
Sign in with Google, in your browser. The sign-in token is stored encrypted on your Mac, and sync runs over HTTPS.
No analytics, nothing sold. The app doesn't track you, and neither does this page: no cookies, no trackers, nothing loaded from other servers.
